Arithmetic, fractions & percentages
Add, subtract, multiply and divide fractions, work out percentages and percent change, round numbers, simplify ratios and handle numbers too big for an ordinary calculator.
Algebra, exponents & logarithms
Compute logs in any base (log₁₀, ln, log₂), solve quadratic equations, work with powers and roots, find a line’s slope and equation, and convert to scientific notation.
Number theory & number systems
List every factor and factor pair of a number, find its prime factorization, GCF and LCM, and calculate in binary or hexadecimal.
Geometry & measurement
Find the area, volume and surface area of common shapes, solve right and oblique triangles, and measure the distance between two points.
Statistics & probability
Summarise a data set with the mean, median, mode and standard deviation. You can also convert z-scores to p-values, build confidence intervals, size a survey sample and count permutations and combinations.
Math Calculators: frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a logarithm in any base?
Use the change-of-base formula: log_b(x) = ln(x) ÷ ln(b). For example, log₂(32) = ln(32) ÷ ln(2) = 5. The Log Calculator does this for log base 10, natural log (ln), log base 2 and any custom base.
Do the math calculators show their working?
Yes. Most tools show step-by-step working. The fraction, quadratic, log, factor, GCF and statistics calculators print each step, so you can follow the method.
How accurate are the results?
Calculations use IEEE 754 double-precision arithmetic, which is accurate to about 15–17 significant digits. The Big Number Calculator uses exact arbitrary-precision integers for values beyond that range.
What is the difference between sample and population standard deviation?
Population standard deviation divides by n. Sample standard deviation divides by n − 1 (Bessel’s correction) to correct the bias of estimating from a sample. The Standard Deviation Calculator shows both.
Can I use these calculators on my phone?
Yes. Every calculator works in any modern mobile or desktop browser, with no app or sign-up needed.
